Yesterday I was on net searching about sanitary awareness where I came across Akshay Kumar’s padman movie poster. today when I shared that with my female friend’s everyone became a bit alert and uncomfortable.

I really don’t understand why females get uncomfortable on the natural topic menstruation when males are coming forward to discuss and spread awareness openly.
Today we are here to introduce a person named Arunachalam Muruganathan, who was a school dropout at the age of 14 from south India, and helped many rural women in south India to get knowledge about the importance of using sanitary napkins and he is the one who invented pads in low cost for rural woman who cannot afford the branded ones.
It all started when he discovered his wife’s disgusting clothes which she was using on her periods. when he asked her why can’t she buy sanitary napkins she replied that if she bought them they wouldn’t be having enough money to buy milk and other things.
Being concerned about his wife he went town to buy sanitary napkins but found that they were sold 40 times the actual cotton price.
So he decided to make it himself at a low cost.
He fashioned a sanitary pad out of cotton and asked his wife to use and tell the result, and got to know that he had to wait till next month for results. Then he came to know that periods come monthly once, he was so desperate to test his invention that he approached ladies and girls on the roads to test and tell him how was it! but no one cooperated with him so he decided to test it himself so he made a uterus with football by punching two holes on it and filled goat blood in it and he became the first man to wear a sanitary napkin.
He walked and cycled and pumped blood to test, he washed his blood-stained clothes in the public itself. People around him thought he was mad and was suffering from some sexual disease.
His wife left him for his weird behavior, but he never gave up!

Though he faced many failures on the invention, finally with the help of few open minded women he was able to create a sanitary napkin with the low-cost he also built 250 machines in 18 months for creating employment for the rural woman.
His wife came back to him on realizing that his husband was not weird and actually did something useful and innovative for our society.
